g-Brake Lights: an adaptive rear lighting system based on the
AIS326DQ inertial sensor and the STM8AF5168 MCU

Introduction
The purpose of this application note is to provide an accurate description of the “g-Brake
Lights” platform, a demonstration board which emulates the operation of an adaptive rear
lighting system for motorcycles and automobiles to increase driver safety.
The solution, which is mainly based on the STM8AF5168 MCU and the AIS326DQ MEMS-
based inertial sensor, has been designed to show the performance of ST's most adv
