A problem plaguing typical digital communication systems is multipath propagation. At radio frequencies,
this can be caused by buildings, walls, and metal objects. Orthogonal Frequency Division
Multiplexing (OFDM) is a method of using multiple carriers to both reduce inter-symbol interference
and combat the e ects of multipath propagation.
We have implemented a compile-time con gurable OFDM modem on a Texas Instruments TMS320
C5510 Digital Signal Processing Starter Kit using 16-point quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM).
This report presents a background on OFDM, the methods we used to accomplish full-duplex operation,
evaluates the performance of the modem, and suggests further improvement
