T h e I n f i n e o n E - G O L D TMv o i c e sets a new record in System-onChip (SoC) integration by being the first single-chip in the market to integrate the main functionalities of a GSM mobile handset. Infineon successfully integrated the baseband processor, radio frequency transceiver, RAM and the power management unit in digital CMOS technology. The small size of the E-GOLDvoice-based ULC2 solution combined with a highly customizable software package enables handset manufacturers to easily adopt specific operator and market requirements. Additional features can easily be added to ULC2 solutions and these additional variants allow handset vendors to extend their product portfolio to address both emerging and developed m
