This user's guide is written assuming some basic knowledge of the CAN protocol and
terms defined by CAN. Those users who do not have this basic CAN knowledge are
encouraged to read Microchip's “CAN Basics” application note (AN713), the MCP2510
data sheet (DS21291) and/or the Bosch GmbH CAN specification, version 2.0. AN713
and the MCP2510 data sheet are available on Microchip's web site at
