Their high output peak currents coupled with high voltage safety standards certifed galvanic insulation, very high com-mon mode noise rejection isolation, solid state device level reliability, and very low power dissipation, makes them in-dispensable inverter gate driver components. The design requirements and power dissipation considerations are made here to ensure that appropriate gate driver optocouplers are selected to match the inverters’ gate charge and power requirements.
