1. Introduction
There are two scenarios in IR device inter-operability:
Communication between a host (PC) and a peripheral.
Communication between two hosts.
The differentiating feature in the two scenarios is that in the first case, an IR peripheral is logically
a part of the host (as far as the user is concerned), while in the other, the two hosts are logically
independent units. There are Plug and Play issues in both cases.
