This application note describes "Network Boot," or (NetBoot) and gives the hardware requirements. A feature built into the ROM of Dallas Semiconductor's networked microcontrollers, NetBoot is a fast, easy way to program flash and nonvolatile SRAM memories in a production environment. NetBoot loads user application code and user application data into SRAM or AMD® AM29LV081B-compatible flash memory, after retrieving it from the network using TFTP.
