EFFECT OF ELECTRODE DESIGN PARAMETERS ON PHASE SHIFT TIME IN CUP-TYPE AXIAL MAGNETIC FIELD VACUUM INTERRUPTER LIU Zhi-yuan, WANG Zhong-yi, WANG Ji-mei, XIU Shi-xin (Dept. Of Electrical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an 710049, China) ABSTRACT: effect of several electrode design parameters on phase shift time between axial magnetic flux density and current in cup-type magnetic field vacuum interrupter was studied. In this paper the electrode was simplified as an axial symmetry model and its harmonic field was analyzed by finite element method. It is found that the phase shift time reduces linearly when electrode gap decreases from 10mm to 1mm. The phase shift time reduces monotonically with decrease of contact dia
