The Receiver Noise Equation: A Method for System Level Design of an RF
Receiver
In this article, a new equation, the receiver noise equation, is introduced
for the system level design of an RF receiver. The receiver noise equation
may be viewed as an extended added-noise analysis, and it summarizes noise
and other signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) degrading factors in the receiver.
With this introduced equation and the analysis of the SNR degrading factors
in the receiver, the required performance of a receiver may be easily
obtained.
