Abstract
An op amp and voltage reference capable of single supply operation down to 1.1V is introduced. Performance is uncompromised and compares favorably with standard, state-of-the-art devices. In a departure from conventional approaches, the circuit can operate in a floating mode, powered by residual voltages, independent of fixed supplies. A brief description of the IC design is given, but emphasis is on applications. Examples are given for a variety of remote comparators and two-wire transmitters for analog signals.
