In this lecture, we will introduce the various types of planar transmission
lines and test fixtures that are typically used when measuring surface
mount devices.
We will next discuss the mathematical relationship between the S and T
parameters.
Next, we will show how the measured T parameters and a fixture model can be
used to de-embed the test fixture from the measurements.
We will then show an example of modeling a test fixture using a combination
of measurement and computer optimization.
Finally, we will provide a measurement example using the de-embedding
process described in this presentation
