Introduction

The objective of this application note is to show how Microstripes Version
6.0 is used to evaluate the performance of a generic dual band helix
antenna designed to operate in the GSM band when mounted inside a typical
handset enclosure. The key parameters of interest are
1. Influence of the handset enclosure on the antenna performance
2. Influence of the presence of the head phantom on the antenna radiation
pattern performance
3. Evaluation of the 1g and 10 g SAR performance of the handset when
